INTENDED AUDIENCE
The Level 2 Award in Principles of Risk Assessment (RQF) is ideal as an introduction to risk assessment for anyone in a work environment.
COURSE OVERVIEW
During this 1 day course, Learners will gain a basic introduction into the principles of risk assessment. Topics covered include: main causes of work-related fatalities, basic processes for undertaking a risk assessment, key terms associated with risk assessments, methods that can be used to prioritise risks and more. Please note this qualification does not include writing and conducting risk assessment practice sessions. Those who will be responsible for conducting risk assessments should undertake the Level 3 Award in Risk Assessment (RQF).
The course will develop learner’s understanding of:
- The main causes of work-related fatalities, injuries and ill health
- Moral, legal and economic reasons for preventing accidents and ill health at work
- Key terms associated with risk assessment
- The role of risk assessment in accident and ill health prevention
- Legal requirements for risk assessment
- A simple process for undertaking a risk assessment
- Occupational, environmental and human factors that can affect the level of risk from hazards at work
- How to prioritise risks
- The requirements for providing information about, and records on, the results of a risk assessment
Entry Requirements
Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training. There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.
ASSESSMENT METHODS
1 x 30 Multiple Choice Question Paper (Theory assessment).
Successful Learners will receive a personalised Level 2 Award in Principles of Risk Assessment (RQF) e-Certificate immediately after their results have been submitted*. Printed certificates are available at an additional cost.
