The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. This includes carrying out a risk assessment, appointing a suitable amount of first aiders and providing appropriate first aid training.
Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work
INTENDED AUDIENCE
The Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, to provide first aid in a range of emergency first aid situations. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide basic first aid in voluntary and community activities.
COURSE OVERVIEW
This 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) training course is a Level 3 RQF Award and gives an overview of the basic skills required of an emergency first aider within the workplace. This course is Ofqual regulated and comes with a regulated qualification certificate.
If your first aid needs assessment stipulates that you need a qualified emergency first aider in the workplace, then this course provides all of the training required along with a nationally recognised certificate which is valid for 3 years. The course meets all guidelines and the resulting qualification is recognised by the HSE.
Alongside meeting these obligations, you will also be equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to handle a wide range of emergency situations – from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions. With the emergency first aid at work course from Safety First Aid Training, you will be able to administer the right treatment swiftly and decisively during a crucial emergency moment where every second counts.
Course Content
Our emergency first aid course covers the following topics:
- Aims and principles of first aid
- What to do in an emergency
- Basic Life Support (CPR & basic use of an AED)
- Management of the unconscious casualty
- Assessment and treatment of a casualty who is wounded or bleeding
- Choking and asphyxia
- Assessment and treatment of burns
- Assessment and treatment of miscellaneous medical conditions
- Record keeping
ASSESSMENT METHODS
4 x Practical assessments and 1 x Theory assessment (Multiple Choice Question Paper).
Successful Learners will receive a personalised Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) e-Certificate immediately after their results have been submitted*. Printed certificates are available at an additional cost.
